It was a bright, sunny day, perfect for being outdoors. Felix and Elena were taking advantage of the excellent weather, and sat up in the Fire house Quidditch stands. Felix wore lightweight linen pants and a white collared shirt, which he'd rolled the sleeves up on, and which had the top two buttons undone, as per usual with him. He had a sketchpad in his lap, and an open tin box filled with pencils - colored and otherwise - rested next to him.
Elena wore a short pink skirt and an off-the-shoulder top featuring the logo of an obscure Muggle band, and was playing a game on her Sidekick. She asked Felix absently, "So, how do you like the new digs?"
Felix looked wistful as he replied, without looking up from his sketching, "Oh, it's nice enough. I'll just miss the dungeons. And my new roommate is abominably boring. I get the feeling he would report me if I tried to sneak out after curfew."
Elena made a disgusted sound at the back of her throat. "I'm terribly sorry to hear that - what rotten luck."

i used to rule the world. SEAS WOULD RISE WHEN I GAVE THE WORD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cam woke up that morning to a bright sun-filled room. He knew it was going to be a great day for quidditch practice. That was one ofthe things Cam liked about the school was that it had quidditch, just like Hogwarts. Cameron put on a pair of light cotton pants, that served two purposes. The first was that they kept him warm while up in the air and they were comfortable. The second was that they were good for everything, not just flying. He also added a green crew neck shirt just because he needed to have one on, school rules otherwise he would've gone shirtless to feel the wind against his skin.
Grabing his broom, Cameron headed towards the quidditch pitch. Finally arriving there, he noticed that for such a great day, not a bunch of people where there. He only noticed two other people actually flying and around the whole pitch only ten others in the stands or on the ground, not including the ball keeper. Walking towards the ball keeper, Cam scanned the clusters of people. He knew quite a few people at the school, but since he was new, he didnt know a bunch of them. The two players above him, he didnt recongize and they werent from his house. And the other people were too far away to make out if he did know them or not. Reaching the ball keeper, he asked if they could release the snitch for him.
Watching as the snitch was released, Cameron mounted his broom and took flight after it. Since this was only a leasure practice, he didnt go half as fast as he normally would have and he didnt have the same sense of urgency as normal of him during practices. Cam's mind wandered away from what he was doing, although his body flew the broom as though on auto-pilot. He avoided hitting the other players, but his body wasnt trying to avoid the stands, it didnt think of them as a threat.
Cameron's mind came back to reality right before he and his broom crashed into the fire house stand. He tried to change the course, but he was to close to do anything to actually stop their directed course, they were going full steam ahead. Cam barely had enough time to slow his brom down before he crashed into the stand. As soon as Cam hit the stand, he was fully aware that he had landed on someone's lap. Standing up, so that he wasnt in the persons lap anymore, Cam fell right back down. Groaning, Cam closed his eyes and tried to hide his pain and embarressment. The pain came from hitting his knee on the wooden benches after his failed atempt to stand. He felt a little light-headed, but it was something he could deal with. Although he wasnt going to try standing up again, at least not on his own.
ooc: it sucks and its super long. sorry. :3 credit * kiss my sass for template

After a few moments of companionable silence - which was rare among two such talkers, but the warm day had perhaps made them feel a bit lethargic - Elena looked up from her cell phone to watch the fliers practicing over the pitch. "Hey, it's the new Fire seeker," Elena said cheerfully. "He looks pretty good. And he's not a half-bad flier either." She grinned.
Felix rolled his eyes. "You always did have a thing for Quidditch players."
Elena started to laugh, not denying it at all, but the laugh died in her throat about half a second before Cameron crashed into Felix, to be replaced by a surprised yelp.
Felix swore quite colorfully, and once Cameron had removed himself from his lap, Felix frantically smoothed out the now-wrinkled pages of his sketchbook. "It seems the Quidditch teams here have far lower standards than Hogwarts did," he snapped. "Even the Gryffindor team could at least see."
Elena stood up, pausing to throw a reproachful look at Felix, before she asked the crashed flier, "Are you alright? Are you hurt? Forgive Felix here, it's sort of a reflex."

i used to rule the world. SEAS WOULD RISE WHEN I GAVE THE WORD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cameron opened his eyes as he heard a voice snap at him. His gaze focused onto a young girl and a guy. The girl was very pretty and she could easily get any guy she wanted just from her looks. But it was the guy that caught Cameron’s attention the most. The way the guy was dressed just screamed at Cam to kiss him. There was no way in hell that Cameron would give into that temptation as he heard the guy was still talking. Cameron caught pieces of what the guy was saying, something along the lines of standards, quidditch, Gryffindor, and lower. Cam got the basic gist of what the guy was saying, so he tuned him out until he finished his little rant. He saw him trying to smooth out the wrinkled pages of his sketchbook. Cam had a sudden urge to see if the guy was any good at drawing. But looking at their current situation, Cam didn’t want to anger the guy anymore.
Hearing a higher pitched voice, Cam looked over at the girl. He saw her turning around from giving the guy a death glare. She sounded really worried for him and for once, Cam was happy about that. ”Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Just a little daze that’s all.” he said smiling at her. Cameron smirked at her comment about the guy, Felix was his name. ”It’s an awfully bad reflex to have there.... Felix.” he said to the guy, teasing him. He wondered what the girls name was, but he decided that he would find out soon enough without having to ask.

Elena had been ready to dart off and fetch a healer if need be, but relaxed when he assured her he was fine. "That's quite a tumble you took there," she said, stepping back to give him some space. "You're the new Fire Seeker, aren't you? I'm Elena Jade - I'm also in the Fire house."
Felix snapped his sketchbook shut, his subject having moved anyway - he had been doing a practice portrait of Elena, while she was sitting still for once. He dropped his pencil back into the open tin, shut that, and only then did he turn his attention to the new guy. His chartreuse eyes narrowed as his attention sharpened, trying to place where he vaguely recognized the newcomer from. "Are you here from Hogwarts?" he asked finally, voice still a bit curt. That might explain things, if he'd been in another house. Felix had mostly stuck with the other Slytherins, and only knew a couple of Gryffindors. Mostly from antagonizing them, trying to bait them into a reaction. Hufflepuffs were of course beneath his notice, but Ravenclaws were tolerable, and he was casually acquainted with a couple of them. Of course, all of those cards were shuffled around when select students were transferred to ADSGMP and resorted.
[Sorry for the crappiness - written in-between packing. ]

i used to rule the world. SEAS WOULD RISE WHEN I GAVE THE WORD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cameron smiled at the girl as he saw her relax and not worry so much about him. He could bet that if he had complained about anything hurting, she would've run for a healer. But the whole moaning thing was just Cameron being a drama queen like always. He sat up as the girl moved back to give him space. "Yep, I'm the new Fire seeker." Cameron said in answer to the girls question. "I'm Cameron, by the way. But Cam works just fine too." he said figuring that everyone had been introduced besides him. He stuck his hand out towards Elena, wanting to shake her hand. It was the politest thing he could think of after nearly crushing both of them.
Cam had almost forgotten that Felix was with them, so when he heard the sketchbook slam shut and the pencil drop into the tin, Cam turned back towards Felix. He hadnt noticed that Felix now had his eyes on him, so when he saw the peircing greenish yellow eyes on him, he almost jumped. But jumping would be quite hard to do while sitting down. "Uhh, yeah I am. Why?" Cameron said answering Felix's question, although it was rather out of the blue. And he could still detect a hint of anger in the guys voice. Now that Felix had said that, he began looking somewhat familiar. Maybe he had seen Felix around Hogwarts, that is if Felix had even gone to Hogwarts. But maybe it was just because Cam had crash landed and know his mind was playing tricks on him.

Elena stuck out her own hand to shake Cameron's and said, "Nice to meet you, Cam. Welcome to ADSGMP." She then shot Felix a look that said, "And where are your manners?"
Felix gave her a withering look, then extended his own hand to Cameron. "A pleasure," he said simply. "Ah - that explains it then. I thought you seemed vaguely familiar. I was in Slytherin at Hogwarts. You were what, a Hufflepuff? That would explain why I didn't know you." It really was tactful - in his terms at least - for Felix to have left out the "because Hufflepuffs are beneath my attention" part, though he all but said it.
[Sorry it's so abysmally short! Writing real quick before going off to play cards. ]

i used to rule the world. SEAS WOULD RISE WHEN I GAVE THE WORD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cam shook hands with Elena and smiled at her comment and the look she gave to Felix. It seemed like she had the upperhand in whatever sort of relationship they were in. They seemed more like friends or brother and sister than a couple, but what did Cameron know. The dou was almost comical in thier expressions towards each other, Felix just proving the point by giving her a stare back.
He was almost shocked when Felix extended a hand too saying "A pleasure." Cam didn't believe the guy one bit that it was a pleasure to meet someone that had practically given you an uninvited lapdance. Although, Cameron did accept his hand and shook it, but countering that action by saying. "Of course it is." with just enough of a hint of sarcasm thrown in. Cam was pretty sure that he had never had a class with the guy, but he had seen him around Hogwarts. When Felix said he used to be in the Slytherin house, Cam couldn't believe it. He was going to be one of those stuck up snobby purebloods that hated everyone not like them. Well, he could be wrong, which he probably was. Cam always things badly of people before he gets to know them.
Cam was appalled that Felix thought he was a Hufflepuff, I mean seriously. "Uh, no actually. I was in Gryffindor house." Cam said catching on that Felix was leaving something off of his sentence. But Cameron didn't care seeing as he wasn't a Hufflepuff, but a strong and loyal Gryffindor.

"Of course it is." Felix raised an eyebrow at the sarcasm he heard in Cameron's voice. That he hadn't expected. Perhaps the snap judgment he'd made had been wrong - it seemed this one had a spine, after all. He couldn't help but smirk a little bit at the appalled expression that had flashed over Cam's face at Felix's suggestion that he had been in Hufflepuff. Ah, a Gryffindor - that made sense. "Of course you were," Felix said, paralleling Cam's earlier comment. "So was Elena, once upon a time. I've always said she was the only Gryffindor I could stand."
Elena rolled her eyes a bit to herself. Boys and their posturing. "And he even has trouble putting up with me sometimes," she chirped merrily. She rather liked this new fellow - and if she was reading Felix right, his irritation was starting to dissipate. "Hey," she said suddenly, an idea coming to her. "We're throwing a party at the beach in a few days - this Friday night. Starts at nine, once we know the professors won't be there. Students only, word-of-mouth invitation only. You should come. We'll have plenty of firewhiskey and marshmallows to roast in the bonfire."
Felix glanced over at her, a little skeptical. They'd only just met the guy - what if he went all noble Gryffindor on them and told the professors that they were having a less than strictly legal party? He shrugged it off though - whatever, maybe Elena saw something in Cam that he hadn't seen yet.
[Lol, I'm kind of starting to run out of ideas for this thread already, but am thinking of starting a thread for the beach party, if you feel like switching over to that soonish. ;D ]

i used to rule the world. SEAS WOULD RISE WHEN I GAVE THE WORD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cameron saw Felix raise an eyebrow at him. Man, this guy has some attitude. Cameron thought. The raised eyebrow was quickly replaced by a smirk. Cam just couldn't keep up with this guy's emotions, they changed to quickly. Hearing Felix repeat what he had just said felt like a slap in the face, but he wasn't about to let him know that. So Cameron placed a glare at the guy before tuning in to listen to what he was still saying. "Well then, I guess we won't be seeing much of each other, if you won't be able to stand me?" Cam said pausing then to think about the girl, Elena. "Second thought, you probably will see me a lot because I think that Elena and I have hit it off smashingly." Cam said smirking back at Felix. He wouldn't let this guy get under his skin, no matter how annoying he was.
Hearing Elena say that Felix sometimes couldn't even stand here was pretty fun. It also somewhat comfirmed his feelings that they were just friends. Cam wasn't going to just ask them if they were going out because if they were, that would be very awkward. Cameron smiled at the thought of the two getting into arguements, he just couldn't see it all to well. Cam listened to her speak about a beach party. Cam thought it sounded like fun, but he wasn't too sure if he would be able to even go. He was just about to turn down her offer when he saw the skeptical look on Felix's face. That made up Cameron's mind for him. He would go to this party whether Felix liked it or not. "Yeah, sounds like fun. I'll be sure to come. Do you guys need help setting up, cause I can help if you want?" Cam said offering himself up to help out with the party. He knew how hard it was to throw and host a party, so he was kind enough to offer at least.
ooc: yeah, me too. lol. but the beach party sounds fun. and we can switch to that if you want. [:

Felix looked just a little dismayed, but Elena grinned and said, "Awesome! We'll see you there, then. If you feel like helping, that'd be great, though don't feel like you're obligated to."
Felix glanced up at the sun, estimating the time, and said, "El. We'd better get going, if we don't want to be late for Potions, again."
Elena wrinkled her nose at him and replied, "As if it would matter at this point. Abendroth's opinion of me isn't going to be improving any time soon."
"C'mon, love. You don't want to get detention for Friday," Felix said with a small smile he couldn't quite suppress.
Elena sighed, then said, "Alright, alright. But we're walking slowly, or he'll get suspicious if we're there early." She turned to Cameron as Felix gathered up his things, and said, "See ya, Cam." Leaning in a little bit to whisper, she added, "Give him a little time." She winked, then turned to hook her arm companionably through Felix's as they started down the stairs of the viewing stand.
[Lol, kk! I'll start the thread for it soon. ]
