Welcome to Camp Crenshaw
turn it up, i never wanna go home
i only wanna be part of your breakdown
she got caught by the four on the floor
i picked her up and she'll never get let down
Welcome to Camp Crenshaw, where fourteen to eighteen-year-olds live amongst each other in close quarters and participate daily in camp and wilderness activities like canoing, rock climbing, ropes courses, and more. This is Camp Crenshaw's first year in operation, but come June, the grounds will be crowded with a full capacity of campers and college-age staff looking to earn extra money with an easy summer job. The camp has four cabins- birch, cedar, elms, and maple, a lake, dining center, auditorium, forest, nurse's station, stables, archery range, arts and crafts cabin, campfire and meeting place area, three sports fields, tennis courts, a small indoor gym, a library, the beach, and the legendary Rosewood Mansion, who's location is unknown to most.
and now i can't stop thinking about it
all you people at the top, don't know nothing about it
we don't give a f**k what the price is
so just leave us to our own devices and we'll leave you alone
Sounds like your average adventure camp, doesn't it? Rowdy teenagers are sent away to experience a summer in rural Capron, Oklahoma, miles from the nearest house or shopping mall. There's absolutely nothing to do in the 73717 zip code, population 42, and that's where the drama comes in. With nothing to occupy these teenagers but each other, cat fights, love affairs, and competition are bound to occur. And that's where the cameras come in. The cameras? Yes, MTV has scattered multiple high tech cameras all over the grounds, recording 24/7. They're in the cabins, in the woods, the dinning center, even the showers. After all, what better place to film a reality TV show than in at a rural wilderness camp in Oklahoma where teenagers have nothing better to do than create drama? But here's the catch- the camp goers and staff don't know that they're being filmed.
i'll be there when your heart stops beating
i'll be there when your last breath's taken away
in the dark, When there's no-one listening
in the times when we both get carried away
Each has been told that the camp will include the exact activities that they enjoy. The snobby city kids have been told that the camp will look good on their college applications, while less fortunate teens can attend the camp for free. Advertisements have gone everywhere from California to London because the producer's biggest goal is to attract all types of teens- the more differences they have, the more drama there will be. And it looks like their goal is about to be reached, as campers and staff are flooding in from thirty-seven different states and eight foreign countries. The producer is ecstatic... the cameras are all set up and ready to roll, and the campers will begin to arrive soon. What's more, MTV has an editing station right on the premises, so they can create TV shows to air within the week of the events. What is this place called, and how will the producers insure that it isn't found? That's easy... Rosewood Mansion doesn't exist.
she says it all without a thought in her head
she says it all as she's pressed up against me
a little something just to take off the edge
a little more and I'll fall off the planet entirely
At least, that's what Adam DiVello (the so-called head of Camp Crenshaw) claims. Campers are forbidden from looking for the place, or even talking about it. This last and final camp rule, the only one that's even really enforced around the camp, has the left the campers wondering about Rosewood Mansion more than ever. There's many rumors about what it contains... some say its haunted, filled with stolen jewels and other valuables, or the headquarters of the mafia. The rumors are numerous and far-fetched, but everyone agrees that if it were to be found, Rosewood Mansion would be the best place to hold the late night parties, because even the counselors don't know where it is. The campers had just given up hope of ever finding the infamous Rosewood Mansion until one day, a seventeen-year-old boy stumbles upon the legendary mansion on his way to the stables...
