Personality: he loves hard rock, and heavy metal music, running, privacy, painting and drawing, sleeping, animals of all kinds, green-eyed girls in pin-stripes, and chocolate.
He hates ignorant and nosy people, being restrained or told what to do, show-offs, bullies, authority figures, and being bored.
He's very suspicious and territorial. He only talks when he has to, but he has a way with words. He doesn't like to talk about himself, and if you ask him questions he will give you short one-word answers, telling you as little as possible. He's very quiet around others, and almost everyone gets on his nerves, so he usually keeps to himself. He's very determined and strong-willed, and he's loyal to a fault to his friends and family. He doesn't trust anyone unless they give him a reason to. He gets bored very easily, and tends to do dangerous and reckless stuff just for something to do. He never backs down, and he has alot of pride, but he tries not to show it, because he knows it can be used against him. He's very closed-off with his emotions, even with those he trusts, and doesn't like showing weakness. He's very restless and likes to be involved in everything; he doesn't like feeling left out. He's very aware and insightful and doesn't miss anything; he knows things about people you wouldn't expect him to know. He's very dominant and hates to be challenged. He is torn between his duty to his pack, and his desire for a (human) life of his own.

Ability: he is a wolf shapeshifter - which means that when he shifts into the shape of a wolf (which he can do at will, regardless of the moon's phase), he takes on some of the wolf's mentality, but still retains a sense of self, as opposed to a werewolf, which shifts into a wolfman-type shape and has no sense of their human self when they shift. In human form he still has the senses of the wolf.

History: William was born in America. His father is Irish, and his mother was American, and they weren't far from being kids themselves. His mother, Dawn, was 16; the daughter of the owner of the restaraunt that 18-year-old Kyle walked into for lunch during his holiday in California. They saw eachother, and it was lust at first sight. They had one wild week together before Kyle had to go back hom, back to Ireland. Two months later, Dawn found out she was pregnant, and she decided to keep the baby, and drop out of school so she could take care of him. William was born six months later, a couple weeks early, on the thirteenth of June. He took his mother's last name, since his father wasn't there for the birth, and isn't on his birth certificate.
He lived with his mom for the first eight years of his life, until the fire. His whole house burned down; his mom and his dogs were inside when it happened, and he was at school. He never found out how it happened; the cops just said it was a hosehold accident. He was in shock for the next few weeks, and he couldn't come to terms with the suddenness of it. But then his dad came to get him. He came all the way from Ireland to get his son, whom he had never met. He only knew of him from the letters and pictures that Dawn sent him. She assured him that she would be okay as a single parent, and that she didn't need any help. Kyle had a fiancee in Ireland anyway that he hadn't told Dawn about. Despite all that, he still sent money when he could.
But, Kyle didn't know how to treat William, or how to be a parent, though he did his best. William was given alot of freedom in his childhood, and he got into alot of trouble because of it, though he rarely got punished for it. It was Kyles way of making up for not being there, but he didn't realize the best way to redeem himself would've been to actually be a parent to William, instead of letting him do whatever he wanted.
Will got the letter when he was 11, just like every other young witch and wizard, but he never really seemed to fit in at Hogwarts. A year later he was transferred to the Albus Dumbledore School for Gifted Magical Persons.
He doesn't talk to his dad much anymore; he resents him for never being there for him, and Kyle still doesn't really know how to act with him.

Other: He is the alpha male of the wolf pack living in the Amiraen Forest,
which happened quite by accident when he first came to the
school. He wandered into the forest, shifted, got into a fight
with the previous alpha when challenged for being on the
other wolf's turf - and won.
