“The question of good vs evil reduced to one simple choice... Survive, or perish.”
Full Name: Jessie Douglas
Nicknames: Jess
Gender: Male
Age: 16
House/Job Position: Currently resides at the school in Air House with no job
Wand: Yew with a Manticore Hair core
Adoptable or Original?: Original
Height:
6 foot
Body Type:
Jessie has a very small frame mostly because of his age but partially just because that is the way he is, he has a long spindly frame, making him slightly tall for his age, and although he looks rather thin he has quite a good amount of lean muscle due to his travels. Even though he used to walking around constantly and is outside quite a lot, one of his major flaws is that Jessie can never get a tan, he has a starch pale completion that makes him look rather sheltered.
Hair:
Jessie has bright blond hair that drapes down below the nape of his neck with its silky and smooth texture. Although his hair is Jessie's pride and joy, he keeps it as clean as possible and well conditioned. Some may say he is rather girl like by doing so but he usually scoffs and walks away.
Eyes:
His eyes are the oddest shade of bright blue that seem to have a eerie shine like they are looking right through you. Their piercing glow seem like they have a rather friendly quality to them, a glimpse into the real Jessie even though his outer appearance is hard and cold.
Other Notable Features:
He is always carrying a messenger bag close to himself, yet he will never let anyone look inside of it for his personal reasons.
Play By: Alex Pettyfer
Personality:
He tends not to talk a lot, and he keeps to himself. He seems to always be hiding something or in deep thought.
Although a very odd trait about Jessie is he also seems as if he has multiple personalities as he seems like he is talking to himself, and most of the time he does speak to something invisible. Even though no one can really see it he is mostly talking to the voice that echoes out to him from his large and rather special book.
Jessie doesn't have any friends what makes him a shy person, who is nervous about just about everything.
Ability:
Although he was born with natural magic abilities he has some rather hard time even noticing they were there.
His main source of power is a enchanted book that he found when he was younger, the book allows the summoning of creatures that will be created and will change themselves into a demonic or much more pleasant creature depending on the casters mindset and mood.
The only way to add more creatures into the book for summoning is a rather gruesome way of tearing the creatures soul from its body, however this magic does not work on humans only animals and very few magical creatures.
History: Jessie grew up as a normal boy for most of his life, just wandering around and hanging out with friends. He was completely oblivious to his powers until he was at least 13 years old.
But during his grammar school years he was a normal kid, just enjoying his life and often being scolded by his parents.
But eventually all things change and Jessie started to get older, eventually moving into middle school. At the time Jessie had thought that this was one of the most exciting times of his life, but Throughout the years to come this would just be a pebble on the road.
So his school life continued making more friends. Although around the time when he was 13 everything changed. His parents had sent him away to a summer camp out in the woods, And this was another one of the times that Jessie had been excited about his time coming here. So Jessie tried to get the most out of heading to a new place, although he didn't have much luck finding friends with the other slightly younger kids.
Needless to say he didn't enjoy doing the camp activities, saying that they were childish and he didn't want to act like a little kid, although Jessie didn't really mean it he was just going through a little bit of a rebel faze.
So he stormed off and ran away from the camp councilors and into the nearby wood.
He kept walking until his legs got tired, and he had finally had time to calm down. Although after he had done so he quickly realized that he was quite a ways from camp, and that they were most likely looking for him. His only problem is that he had no clue on how to get back.
So he started to panic and paced back and forth biting his nails and wishing that he had warmer clothes. So he quickly tried to find somewhere to sit down. And eventually after quite a while of searching he found a toppled over tree, it had caught on a large boulder and was making a sort of makeshift shelter.
From what he had actually paid attention in camp he knew that he needed to find shelter as fast as possible so he quickly decided that this would be his camp. Needless to say Jessie wasn't very good at finding food though, so he went without none for the night.
But it was something that happened that night in that spot, that changed Jessie's life forever.
You see the tree above Jessie wasn't very stable, after all it had fallen in a storm quite a while ago. But the tree was not the remarkable part you see, the part that was interesting was the fact that the tree had fallen from a nearby sinkhole. A sinkhole, that Jessie was on top of. So in the middle of the night there was a loud thump and Jessie was sent tumbling into a large open hole, the soft moonlight shining through down to him.
Luckily he had only fallen a few feet and was only a little bruised up. But yet still the remarkable part of the experience was what he found in the hole. Instead of being tremendously large it was more like a small underground chamber, only a few feet wide resembling a box. Jessie dug for a little while before he exposed the box fully and opened it, inside was a rather old and weathered book.
That night was the first time that Jessie had descovered his magic powers. As he opened the book there was a flash and Jessie dropped to his knees rubbing his eyes and he looked up to see the book laying there, flashes of animals and beasts running through his head and he quickly shook them away.
Not soon after the flash a man walked up behind Jessie and picked him up, as he was from a search and rescue team.
Jessie was so tired he just fell asleep on the man's shoulder leaving the book in the woods.
Jessie awoke the next morning in his cabin with news that he was being sent home after his outburst. So he started to pack his things, rather embarrassed and saddened by what he had done, yet at the same time curious about the book.
He had wished that he had kept it, after all he hadn't gotten to see what it was before he passed out. As he found himself thinking about it he found it at the bottom of his stack of clothes. He gasped and quickly hid it hoping it was his imagination playing tricks on him. But he found it again later in his suitcase, he found it quite odd and he was quite scared. So he quickly picked it up and looked inside, the pages covered in a weird script. He couldn't read it of course so he set it down, as he did so his fingers ran across one of the scripts and there was a glowing light. He gasped as he felt a remarkable rush through him and shoot out into the air. He gasped and his eyes slowly opened to a large white bird standing there. He gasped and sat up to look down at the bird and after a closer look realized that it was a falcon. He sat there wondering if he had passed out before he head a soft voice echo from the bird.
Slowly it started to explain to him about the book and what it was. It spoke about how now that he found it that it was his, and no one else could have it. The book was enchanted, by a man with magical abilities. He sealed some of his power inside, a sort of sorcery magic that allowed the summoning of creatures.
The man had locked in the falcon as a way of talking to the owner and helping them. You see the book stored a list of animals that could be summoned, and if in good nature or bad nature the creature would change or become deformed into something horrible or something good.
Although the man had not sealed his knowledge into the book, and so the creatures would have to be collected by the user, although it was in a rather gruesome manor of taking the creatures soul.
Jessie had quickly jumped up hearing this and ran to the book, slamming it closed and wanting it to stop. So the falcon quickly dissipated and Jessie opened his eyes slowly and he threw the book out of the window of his camp, quickly packing his things and moving outside toward the bus that was awaiting to take him home. Although now he wasn't regretting leaving as he wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
When he arrived home the book was waiting on his bed, Jessie jumped and had to put his hands over his mouth from screaming. Slowly he uncovered his mouth and walked over putting the book in his drawer and he tried to ignore it. He found it several more times well he was unpacking his things throughout his room, but he stuck determined to ignore it. So he let the day end and he slowly went to the sleep.
But the book had other ideas of getting Jessie's attention so in the night it started speaking to him, he was half asleep at the time and he was just nodding along. Eventually the falcon had managed to summon himself through Jessie's babbling and it started making soft noises, and soon Jessie's dog had made his way into the room and the door shut.
The morning when Jessie had woken up he found his dog laying there dead on the floor with no apparent wounds. Jessie broke into tears and staid in his home that day.
The next day he waited until his parents were away and he pulled out the book and went into his living room. Quickly he started a fire and threw the book inside. But a ominous green flame enveloped the book and it just sat there not burning. After that he went into the backyard and went to the wood chipper and threw it inside, but it shot out the back in perfect condition.
Jessie quickly opened up the book and ran his hand across the place where the animal had come from before and the falcon appeared. Jessie demanded to know what had happened to his dog, the falcon nodded and slowly noted a new entry on the next page. He quickly turned to it and noticed that the strange scrips were becoming more clear to him and he read the passage. He was horrified when he noticed that the book had claimed his dog.
Angry and saddened he ran his hand across the passage, although his mood started to warp it, and disfigure the creature. Its jaws grew wider as its mouth dropped open its fangs sticking jagged in every direction. Its fur turning dark and black and little jagged bump like horns stuck up from its head just a ways above the eyes. It back cracked a few times and it started walking toward Jessie, its jaws dripping as it made a deep growl like noise.
Tears started to run down Jessie's face and he shook his head clutching the book to his chest wishing that this was not his dog, wishing it would just go away.
Then in a few seconds the wolf started to break apart into smoke and drift away through the air.
Although the thing that Jessie didn't realize is that his parents were just bringing in the mail as he was outside crying.
Quickly they brought him inside and he hid the book.
Over the two year Jessie tried to ignore the book as much as possible, every now and then he would find some kind of dead garden snake or lizard next to his bed and he disposed of them before his parents found them. Although around this time he seemed so distant to other kids, just avoiding them completely and he started wearing longer baggier clothes.
He would often go to school and set his backpack down, only to pick it up and find out it was heavier. Although as he was entering into high school at the age of 14 he just got used to the book always being there so he never bothered about it and just had learned to ignore it. Although the book had been docile and hadn't really been doing anything bad for quite a while just waiting for a opportunity. And several times throughout the year things like the principals dog, and strays to walk onto the property would end up dead somewhere.
Jessie knew it might be his fault but he didn't realize that he would sometimes fall asleep in class. Although noting major had happened, but it all changed the day he had gotten detention. Although he kinda felt cool for getting detention for the fist time he was also quite nervous of what his parents would do. So when he arrived at the classroom he realized it was a biology classroom, cages with animals inside were draped around, from frogs, to snakes, and even a couple small birds. And the star of the animal show was a large ball python in a far cage. Jessie instantly became more nervous, waiting to see something after the teacher left into another room. When she did so Jessie quickly reached into his bad seeing and hopping that the book wasn't there. Although as he reached inside he found the book cracked open, and his hand slowly rubbed across a page. When he did so a black falcon jumped out, with the same voice as before and as it cawed it seemed like it hissed, its feathers were matted and it had long sharp talons. In a instant it flew around the room, smashing into cages and breaking them open. It quickly killed the small frogs snakes and other bird, but it did have a slight bit of trouble going after the fish until it just broke the glass. Finally it flew over to the ball python's cage and smashed it open, aggravating the snake and flying back toward Jessie.
Although Jessie was huddled over in his chair gasping wondering what was happened before the python started to wrap around his legs and he gasped loudly feeling a sharp pain.
Jessie heard the bird sitting on the table talking to him, telling him that if he wanted his legs he would have to take the snake's soul. Jessie tried to resist and hope the snake would go away, but it started to make its way up his leg more and he clenched his jaw. After quite a while he finally opened the book and slammed his hand into it, a soft glow of green light enveloped the snake and it dropped down. Soon after Jessie fell to the floor passed out surrounded by broken glass and dead animals.
Needless to say Jessie was arrested for animal assault, and defacement of propriety. He went to court but knew he had nothing to claim as not guilty. He lost and had to do quite a bit of community service, luckily he had a good lawyer.
Well doing all of his work he actually started to grow up a little more, his muscles forming and getting more exercise.
Although he was out of his high school after his work had finished, he was only 16 and had been expelled from his school. But one time when he had arrived at his house there was a strange invitation to a school that was a ways away. He didn't know what to do, but his parents would rather get rid of him after what he had done.
So he was sent away to this mysterious school wherever it was, to try and get a new start.
