Claire sat silently in the window seat of a large bay window on the second floor of the library, an open book sitting forgotten in her lap. Her attention was riveted instead on the view out of the window and the rain pattering softly against the panes of glass between her and the outside world. It had been pouring earlier, and was only just starting to die down. Perhaps some weather mage had been in a foul mood. Claire liked the rain well enough, but the weather had been less than stellar recently, and she missed the sun.

Adam had found himself in the library even though the weather was perfect for some outdoors training, that actually quiet annoyed him he wanted to be outside, but homework was more pressing at the moment, and the professor was not going to let him slip this time, a fact which annoyed him even more.
Adam placed himself besides an actually quite pretty girl, not that it mattered, it was just so he had something pretty to look at when his eyes became too bored with looking in the book. Adam could hear the rain pattering against the glass in the windows, each sound being like torture to him, good water being spoiled by the window when it could be used for furthering Adams capabilities.
Adam began to read, but the book was so boring that he hadn´t even finished the first page before deciding to say hello to the pretty woman. "Hey I don´t think I have seen you around here... My name is Adam." Adam said sounding like a guy filled with confidence, Adam was obviously not scared of talking to strangers.

Claire snapped out of her daze with a slight, startled jolt, and shifted her cornflower blue gaze from the window to the boy who had suddenly appeared. She seemed surprised that he was speaking to her, and a faint smile ghosted over her lips as she said, Australian accent thick in her voice, "Oh, I've been here. I just.. don't get out very often, I suppose." She brushed a strand of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear, a slightly nervous gesture - she wasn't used to people coming up to her and talking to her, let alone so casually and confidently. Mostly the students here thought she was weird, even for a mage. Remembering that Adam had offered his name, and that she should probably give her own in return, she said quickly, "Oh, ah, I'm Claire."

"Oh, ah, I'm Claire."
"A pleasure to meet you Claire... So what are you reading?" Adam asked as he looked at Clair, he was trying to start a conversation, with the new woman, and since she looked like the shy type, he wouldn´t ask the ability question yet, since it was kind of private, and it could push the pretty woman away, a thing his eyes did not want since they would then have to return to the books, and that way very boring.
Adam thought that the little movement she had done was actually kind of cute, at least so he thought, but maybe that was just the books that was making his brain react with the word cute all the time, yeah that seemed most likely since Adam normally wasn´t a guy that would flirt or even think like that.

Claire looked down at the book resting on her knees, almost as though she'd completely forgotten it was there, then replied, "Oh - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. An old favorite of mine. Just some nostalgia reading. What about you?" She nodded towards his book, as she stuck a bookmark between the pages of her own before closing it. Her legs were starting to cramp from sitting there for so long, so Claire shifted position, tucking her legs underneath her, carefully smoothing the long, billowy white skirt she wore (to match her white blouse) under her legs. She was barefoot, so shoes were no impediment.

"Oh - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. An old favorite of mine. Just some nostalgia reading. What about you?"
"Just some homework reading." Adam said as he showed her the potion book, it was one of those big books about stuff that people would never use, what good could a potion do when a wand was being pointed towards your head? Adam shook his head slightly forcing the thought of him pointing his wand at the irritating potion professor out of himself, since it was not something that should be thought of at a place like this.
Adam found himself unable to think of anything to ask the woman, it was impolite to ask a woman about her age or weight, and he would probably be slapped in the face if he asked her about her relationship status. Adam found himself totally out of questions beside on actually, but that was private, and it could maybe even offend her if he asked, but to heck with that, he needed something to ask her, and that was the only thing he could think off.
Adam looked into her pretty blue eyes; they were nice, sweet yet pure in a way unexplainable. "So... What can you do? Of course besides using magic." Adam tried to smile, but he couldn´t stop feeling that he had just humiliated himself in some way.

Claire nodded and gave Adam a sympathetic little half-smile upon reading the title of the book. She'd never really had very much interest in potions. Herbology she found fascinating, and Professor Iving had always been very kind to her. Potions, though, she could never bring herself to really care about, though she supposed there were some useful draughts to be made - occasionally.
She wasn't offended at his question, and hesitated only a moment before saying, "I'm a healer. Not like a mediwitch, but- wandless healing, I mean." She couldn't very well just up and say she sometimes spent her time in the Forest while in the shape of a unicorn, which oh by the way, was from her mom's side of the family. Because her mother had been a unicorn. It wasn't something she liked to advertise. Only the professors at ADSGMP knew about that part of her magic. All the other students just thought the alien aura they picked up from her was simply because she was weird. "What do you do?"

"I'm a healer. Not like a mediwitch, but- wandless healing, I mean."
"That is pretty cool." Adam said, smiling slightly and ability like that could be useful in combat, unless of course it only worked on other people, and not on one self, then it wasn´t useful at all in combat, but she probably wasn´t the fighting type, she didn´t look like that.
"What do you do?"
Adam didn´t speak, he only opened the window slightly and moved his hand up, and in the same second, water began to come to it, and form a little globe. He then closed the window again, and then very slowly and carefully He moved back into the sitting position he had been in before, and showed her the floating globe as he spoke. "I can manipulate any liquid." Adam looked at her, as he made the water shift shape, from a globe to a star, and then to a double helix, and so on. Adam was very careful not to spill any of the water, especially not on or around Claire, since there was no reason to make her angry.

With a tentative smile, Claire looked down at her hands and said, "It has its uses. I help out sometimes in the Infirmary as part of my training."
She watched intently as he drew the rain in through the cracked window, and her smile grew a little more sure as she said, "That's neat." She watched the water change shapes for a moment, then added, "It's so lovely - one never really gets to see water from this sort of perspective. Something's always under it or around it to distract from the water itself." She looked a bit sheepish then and said, "And I'm sure it must be terribly useful too, not just pretty."

"That's neat.... It's so lovely - one never really gets to see water from this sort of perspective. Something's always under it or around it to distract from the water itself... “
"Yeah... The water is really beautiful nearly as beautiful as you." Adam said, being totally lost in both the beautiful things, and then it was that he noticed what he had said, and became red. "I am sorry it was inappropriate to say such things..." He said trying to make it good again, since she could have taken it the wrong way, and he didn´t want to push her away.
"And I'm sure it must be terribly useful too, not just pretty."
"Yes it is useful..." Adam said, of course it was he could do anything with it, when he had gotten some more training, but then again, what he already could do with it was very useful to. He Looked at Claire, he didn´t know what to say, it was like her stunning beauty at taken the normal bad-boy attitude away from him, and replaced it with a loving and caring personality, it was actually quiet irritating. Adam made the water form into a beautiful star, and then he froze it, making it look like a big star made of diamond.

Claire's cheeks flushed pink at Adam's inadvertent compliment, and she ducked her head slightly, letting her hair fall into a sort of partial curtain between them, shielding her blush. Unsure what else to say, she murmured, "Thank you." "I am sorry it was inappropriate to say such things..." She shook her head and said, "No, it- it was kind of you to say so. I'm flattered." Claire knew she was no veela, though she had an awkward sort of beauty, made stranger by the occasional too-fluid-to-be-human movements that slipped past her. However, she was unused to anyone actually complimenting her. Well, that wasn't true. Sometimes Professor Iving would sit her down and teach her different ways of styling her hair, and always wished aloud that she had hair like Claire's. But her admiration was of a maternal sort, as the Herbology teacher viewed her young ward as the daughter she'd never had.
Claire didn't want Adam to get scared away by the awkward turn of the conversation, so in search of a distraction, she reached up and lightly touched the ice-star Adam had made. "How long will it stay like this?" she asked.

Adam couldn´t stop blushing, though it was only slightly, and only because he had let his heart speak before letting his mind think it through, a stupid thing he knew that, but it had happened, and obviously the girl hadn´t minded it at all, which was actually kind of weird, though he didn´t mind it.
"How long will it stay like this?"
"Well if it is in normal temperature then it will stay like this for 2 days, but of course the time will decrease the hotter it becomes around it." Adam said, as he looked from the start to the girl, actually he thought the girl was prettier, though maybe she didn´t thought so, that was actually weird. Adam didn´t know about her half-breed genes, and actually he didn´t mind, a half-breed could be just as good as any pureblood mage.
"You can keep it if you want?" Adam said or rather made it sound like an awkward question, she could keep it, and when the two days was at their end, then she could come to him and get it restored, actually a pretty good way to keep in contact with her.

"Could I?" Claire asked, flashing a shy smile at him. "It would brighten up my dorm room. Though I wish it would last long enough to have a permanent spot in my flat." Her apartment was decorated sparsely, as she didn't care for elaborate clutter, but the ice star was simple and elegant enough to please her tastes.
She carefully held it by her fingertips on the ends of the star's arms, not wanting her body heat to make it melt any faster, but also wanting to get a closer look at it. "Thank you," she said again, looking back up at Adam.

"Could I? It would brighten up my dorm room. Though I wish it would last long enough to have a permanent spot in my flat.... "Thank you,""
"You’re welcome; it is the least I can do... Hmmm now I think about it, I might know a spell that makes it able to stay frozen forever... Wait here." Adam said, as he got up, and began to move towards a section of the library he hated nearly just as much as the potion section.
It didn´t take long for Adam to find the book he was searching for. Adam then took it down from the shelf and walked back over to Claire, he sat down at the place he had been sitting before and opened the book, it was a book filled with spells specialized in water and ice, he had read it once, to see if he could get better with his Hydrokinesis. Adam found the page pretty quickly, and then while he was reading the spell he took out his wand from a special sewn pocket in on his pants.
Daniel said the spell and did as the book dictated, and little light came out of the wand, and laid itself like a coat over the ice-star. "Know it should be like that forever." Adam said smiling slightly as he thought that a girl actually had accepted a gift from him, a gift he had made all by himself, it was nearly too good to be true, but it was he could feel it, this was no dream.

Claire watched curiously as Adam worked, and when the light laid itself over the star, she took it more surely into her hands. "That's perfect," she said, turning the star over in her grasp. "Thank you," she said once more. "I wish there was something I could give you in return."

"That's perfect...Thank you...I wish there was something I could give you in return."
"No need, seeing you happy is all the payment I need." Adam said, he had done it again, he had said something he only had wanted to think, and there was something about that woman that made him say and do things he would normally never or at least rarely do or say. Adam blushed slightly again, the woman would surely believe he was flirting with her, who wouldn´t? Though Adam wasn´t actually the thought was very far away, he only thought about her as a friend at least that was how he thought about her right now. But now that the thought of having her as a girlfriend had forced its way into his brain, he couldn´t stop thinking about how beautiful she was, everything seemed perfect on her, maybe she was a Veela? Not that he cared, she could be a werewolf for all he cared, and he would still like her like this.

Claire laughed softly and said lightly, "Flatterer." She shrugged and then added, "Well, if you ever need something healed, you know who to go to. If, um, for some reason you don't want to go to the Infirmary. Where I might be anyway. Though more often in the greenhouses, or the forest. And I'm babbling. Stopping now." She looked down at the star in her hands sheepishly, a faint flush coloring her cheeks again. She was naturally a bit awkward with people, but now she seemed to be even more so than usual, and couldn't figure out why, or what made this guy different.

"I will remember that." Adam said as he smiled at her, it was not just her beauty, her personality was so sweet, innocent and pure, it was hardly even believable that a girl like her existed, maybe this was a dream? If this was a dream, then Adam didn´t want to wake up. Adam couldn´t stop looking at her, her beauty was breath taking, and his brain had gone totally numb, he had absolutely no idea of what he should say, and he feared that if he opened his mouth without knowing what to say, then he would just begin to babble about random things, probably how beautiful Claire were, and Adam knew that it would probably be weird if he did that.
So Adam just sat there, looking at her, as he smiled slightly at her to, he had forgotten everything else besides Claire, the homework he was supposed to do, was not of his concern anymore.

Claire gave a little, embarrassed laugh, a little unsure of herself. This was untrodden ground with her. Just then, she happened to glance over at the large pendulum clock hung on one of the library's walls, and her eyes widened as she remembered something. "Oh! I'm really sorry, but I promised Professor Iving I would help her in the greenhouses at half-past three. I'm going to be late." She looked truly disappointed that she had to leave, and stood up reluctantly, smoothing out her skirt.
