It was a common event for Cecilia Lockwood to bring her classes into the Amiraen Forest. While she never brought them in very far- usually, only a quarter-mile or so -this time, she felt like being a little more daring. She led her small class along the worn paths, and though she did not look at them, she could sense their surprise as she passed the small clearing she usually took them to.
Cecilia continued walking until the light filtering through the trees dimmed a bit and the undergrowth became thicker. She stopped when she reached an area that had obviously been recently cleared of all undergrowth. It was absolutely empty- she motioned towards it and said calmly, "I highly recommend that you lot stand there until I say you can leave it, unless you're fireproof."

"I highly recommend that you lot stand there until I say you can leave it, unless you're fireproof."
Adam nodded, and did as the teacher said, as usually she had taken him and the other people into the forest, but they had walked way further into the forest than they normally did, and that actually scared him slightly. Adam had been a good boy, and had therefore avoided most fights with Professor Abendroth at least since the color changing potion incident, so it couldn´t be punishment, and if it were, then the crazy potion teacher had reached a whole new level of evil, though that probably wouldn´t surprise anyone, since he had been known to be slightly mentally unstable, with an affinity for girls and a big hatred for kids.
"So, what are we going to do today professor?" Adam asked, while letting his eyes follow the female professor, while keeping himself inside the area the professor had ordered him to stand in, Adam knew better than to disobey this teacher since what she said actually could keep him alive, if she hadn´t decided to feed them to some kind of evil pupil eating animal.

Cecilia waited for her class to fill in to the clearing, making sure that none of them were acting like idiots and putting even a toe over the border. But when she heard one of her students ask a question, she stopped observing her class to listen.
"So, what are we going to do today professor?"
Cecilia smiled, amused. "You're going to meet one of my little friends," she answered, looking all the world like she was going to introduce them to something as mundane as a worm. "I'll be back in a moment."
She left her class standing in the clearing and disappeared down the path, going deeper into the forest, but only a little ways. She returned quickly, obviously quick on her feet. She held what was clearly a juvenile dragon; with a little observation, it was clear that she was holding a Welsh Green, which was approximately eight months old and while not yet capable of flight, quite capable of admittedly weak flames, compared to an adult dragon. "Of course, the Headmistress doesn't know I brought little Loki to the school, so I expect none of you to go whining to her, or anyone else, that I forgot to renew my license for owning a dragon." She sounded and looked completely casual, as if owning a dragon was no different from owning a pitbull or a German Shepherd.

"You're going to meet one of my little friends; I'll be back in a moment."
For some reason this actually made Adam quite scared, when a teacher in this subject said something like that, it could never be good, a little friend could be anything from a unicorn to huge fire breathing dragons, which as easily as breathing could eat you.
"Of course, the Headmistress doesn't know I brought little Loki to the school, so I expect none of you to go whining to her, or anyone else, that I forgot to renew my license for owning a dragon."
Adam looked at the little dragon, of course it was a dragon, what else could it have been when you needed to go all the way out here. The dragon was actually kind of cute on a weird yet dangerous way, Adam liked it, it wasn´t big so, it couldn´t hurt him that much, well besides breathing flames at him. Something with the teacher freaked him out though, it was probably the fact that the headmistress didn´t know about this thing, and if he knew the people around him right, then there would be rumors about this dragon faster than fire eating very dry wood.
"Is that a Welsh Green?" Adam asked as he kept looking at the dragon, it couldn´t be very old, some months or so, but not more than a year as far as he could see.

Cecelia wanted to laugh at the shocked expressions that some of her students had, but controlled the urge, instead shifting her hold on the young dragon.
"Is that a Welsh Green?"
The teacher smiled and nodded. "Yep- good eye. One of the easier dragon breeds to keep. Not like, say, a Hungarian Horntail. I owned one of them for a while. Vicious thing, almost impossible to keep quiet."
Cecilia knew that the rumors would be flying as soon as her students got within range of their peers, but didn't much care- while the Headmistress didn't know of Loki's existence, she did know about her mage ability, which also happened to be why Ceci could get away with keeping dragons, regardless of whether she lived on a dragon reserve or not. "So, let's see who's actually read their textbooks. Anyone know how old a dragon has to be to be capable of flight?"

"So, let's see who's actually read their textbooks. Anyone know how old a dragon has to be to be capable of flight?"
Adam knew this one, he had read it not too long ago, now he just had to remember it, a dragon breathed fire before it flew. It took some time but Adam remembered it, and since it didn´t seem like any other people was going to say anything, he just said it. "Isn´t it around twelve months?" Adam said, as he looked from the dragon and to the teacher, he tried to see if what he said was true.
The other pupils around him didn´t seem to say anything, they were still startled by the dragon, a think which confused Adam slightly, sure the dragon had been kind of scary, but people could defend themselves from it if they had just slight control of their MAGE.

"Isn't it around twelve months?"
"Approximately," she responded evenly. "Some breeds start flying younger, and some older. Welsh Greens, like Loki here, usually start flying at about twelve and a half months, with some variation depending on habitat."
Cecilia took a moment to observe her class: the majority of them seemed startled. Cowards, she thought, rolling her eyes.
"And, let me guess, you're all terrified because Loki happens to be old enough to breathe fire. That's rather pathetic, honestly, I would've expected more bravado out of you lot. It's not like baby dragons are stupid- they're probably a tad smarter than your average cat."

The people around Adam didn´t answer. "N......No....Miss." One of them finally forced out of his mouth, it was one from the Air house of course, just like Adam, his eyes didn´t leave the dragon, it was as if he was only readying himself for the dragon to fire a big fireball at him, a thing which he would obviously like to avoid.
Adam looked over at the guy, who had tried to make himself look brave, a thing which obviously had failed miserable. Adam covered his face with his hand for a few seconds, before removing the hand again. *Why do the Air house have to be filled with weaklings?* Adam thought to himself, as he looked at the teacher, his initial fear of the little fire-breathing-reptilian had disappeared, and now he was actually getting used to it.
Adam nodded when she commented the dragon’s intelligence, the textbook had said something like that, finally it had paid off to read his homework, and this had to be the first time. "So professor... why a dragon?" Adam asked, obviously he was referring to the fact that she had a dragon as a pet instead of, everything else.

Cecilia would have dearly liked to take her class deeper into the trees and leave them for the forest's less friendly inhabitants to play with, but that would lose her her teaching position, which probably wouldn't be the greatest thing in the world for her resume.
"So professor... why a dragon?"
Cecilia glanced at the speaker and smiled darkly. "I happen to like dragons. I have several thestrals as well, but they don't fit in my house as baby dragons do."
She shifted the small dragon to her other arm, and added, "I was going to show you just how accurate dragon's can be with their fire, but obviously you all seem to be pyrophobes, so I guess not." Ceci didn't think it worth mentioning that she found fire fascinating and was a bit of a pyro in her own right.
