Personality: On the outside, Mel seems to be exactly what she pretends to be: a quiet, darkness-loving teen with a fiery temper who isn't afraid to fight. But to tell the truth, it's mostly a façade- while, yes, the thrill-seeking part of her likes to duel, her more dominant quiet side is far more cowardly, preferring silence, darkness, and a good book. Mel hates crowds, and can't stand to be around idiots. She has an excellent memory for spells, though some stick better than others, and she rarely gets a spell wrong on the first try. Unluckily, she doesn't have anywhere near the same luck with potions.
She is a little more than a tad eccentric, preferring old movies from the turn of the century and hating chocolate in the extreme. She has some rather typical, but highly irritating unconscious habits- when bored, she frequently drums her fingers on hard surfaces or twirls her hair around her fingers (not that it isn't curly enough already). Mel has two main fears in life: she's terrified of death, and she's also afraid of being outcasted from society. She sometimes goes days without sleep, this usually being a result of her paranoia, and she has also been known to scratch herself in her sleep. She can't explain either away, though she tells herself that it isn't her fault that she does such things.
Ability: "Secrecy"- she can pass through dim or dark areas unnoticed, and if anyone is specifically looking for her, she can "persuade" them that they never saw her.
History: Melantha Nikole Todd was born on the thirtieth day of October in the year 2184 in a small wizarding town in Germany. She was the oldest of three; her brother Keenan was born the following August, and her sister Abigail was born in early December, 2187. Melantha lived with her parents, siblings, and her aunt Autumn. When Melantha was seven years old, unusual things began happening in the town she lived in: first livestock went missing, only to be found on the outskirts of town, little left but bones and scraps. Pets began to disappear in the same way, but their carcasses were found closer to the heart of the town. By this time, the older witches and wizards in the town began to speculate what kind of creature was doing it. Unfortunately, they didn't figure it out until it had attacked a defenseless child: Melantha. Now they knew that the invader was a werewolf, but it was too late to do anything about it- the werewolf was gone without a trace.
She had to learn to cope, and thanks to her aunt, who had a gift with potions, she has always been able to (mostly) control her shifting with the Wolfsbane potion. But she was no longer idolized by her siblings, a result more of fear than anything else, and she had become an outcast in the town she once found so friendly. When she turned eleven, Mel was accepted to become a student at Durmstrang. However, she left partway in her second year to attend the ADSGMP.
